Tennis Court Painting

Tennis court painting is essential for keeping your court safe for play, vibrant and performing at its best. Even with regular cleaning and maintenance, surface coatings naturally wear down over time. As a result, repainting restores grip, improves appearance and protects the court from long term damage. Based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, Clean Courts provides professional tennis court painting across the UK, including Scotland and Wales. In addition, we also paint MUGAs, running tracks, netball courts, outdoor basketball courts and pickleball courts.

Benefits of Painting your Sports Surface

Tarmacadam tennis courts typically require repainting every 4 to 5 years. Fresh painting not only enhances the look of your court but it also plays a crucial role in safety. The non‑slip properties in our specialist tennis court paint provide the grip players rely on. When the coating wears away, surfaces become slippery and increases the risk of injury.

Painting a tennis court or sports surface requires specialist equipment, the correct materials and experienced professionals. Clean Courts has over 25 years of experience repainting and colour coating courts for private homes, schools, councils, universities, clubs and leisure facilities. We use the highest quality non-slip paint, that has been designed for outdoor tennis courts and has been tested to ensure the safety of players.

The Tennis Court Painting Process In Short:

Once the surface has been cleaned and prepped for painting, we apply two coats of premium sports surface paint, leaving adequate drying time between coats. After the surface is dry, we mark out the court and apply standard two‑inch lines using specialist line‑marking equipment. We can also mark out 4″ baselines or even add your club name with a stencil.

Court Binder:

Resin binder is a transparent adhesive that is sprayed onto the court, penetrating the tarmac to create a strengthened bond that helps prevent future deterioration. By reinforcing the structure, binder minimises maintenance needs and extends the lifespan of the surface, making it a game changer for long term durability. Binder is fully porous, ensuring proper drainage without disrupting water flow. It also provides the perfect base for colour coating, improving adhesion and guaranteeing a smooth, long lasting finish.

Including binder in the painting process means better preservation, safer play, and a visually stunning court that stands the test of time.
